Royal Blackburn Hospital                                  

If anyone has a couple of hours a week to spare a catholic volunteer team is being formed at Blackburn hospital to visit and chat with catholic patients who may feel isolated or lonely. if you feel this may be something you could do please let me know that you are interested. Thank you.

 

Hyndburn Holyland Pilgrimage.                      

Are you are interested in a trip to the Holyland leaving on Thursday 13^th September? The trip is organised for the Hyndburn parishes. Please read the notice at the back of the church. The pilgrimage will be led by Fr. Clarke from Great Harwood. The cost of the pilgrimage is from £995. Please let me know if you are interested or contact Fr. Clarke directly.

The Mousetrap                                         

We have secured a limited number of tickets for the Mousetrap       at the Palace Theatre in October. Tickets including travel are £25 each. Please book your place  and a £5 deposit secures your ticket.

Ladies Club

The Wednesday club has now restarted after the winter break. We meet every Wednesday afternoon 1pm in the parish centre. All welcome.

Kenya School.

Your generosity has allowed us to finally complete our Saint Patrick’s Secondary School project in Kenya. Photographs of the project and its development will be available soon. Well done and thanks for your generosity and family fast efforts.

St Anne’s and St Joseph’s is a good school. This happy, harmonious school has many strengths some of which are outstanding. All parents and carers who responded to the questionnaire were unanimous in the view that their children enjoy coming to school. Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding as is the school’s promotion of community cohesion. Pupils’ experiences of different cultures and beliefs are well developed through the curriculum, charity work and links with Kenya. - November 2011

Hyndburn Parishes Bulletin                                The  January   edition is now in the parish churches. Please pick one up.  It contains information about all the hyndburn parishes and the events taking place and a proposed pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Parish Library.                    Thanks to a sponsor new books are now available for sale at £1.99 each and with a 50p trade in if they are returned on the purchase of another book.  They are new, short and easy to read.We hope that work will soon start on the shelving  in the centre.

Spanish Club                    The club takes place every wednesday. All are welcome even if you have never uttered a word of another language before. Come learn and enjoy. Open to all.
